Yoga FAQWhat type of Yoga do you teach?Our style of Raja-Dhi-Raja Yoga is gentle, easy to practice type of yoga that encompassed asanas with deep breathing and meditation. We hold our poses longer to effectively massage out glandular and nervous systems. This would ensure a more balanced secretion of hormones, thus building stronger anti-bodies for a healthier internal system, while Meditation helps in attaining a peaceful state of mind. This gentle style is most suitable for people who prefer a relaxing and rejuvenating form of yoga, as it is not fast paced. People from almost all ages can learn this form of Yoga. Is Raja-Dhi-Raja Yoga different from Hatha Yoga?Originally Hatha yoga is about controlling the mind by means of physical exercises only. The commercialized Hatha yoga often turns into aerobics or practicing postures for the purpose of body fitness and flexibility only. Raja-Dhi-Raja Yoga teaches you how to focus efficiently through mental exercises [Meditation], with the help of the body [Yoga Asanas and Massage] with relaxation sessions and good advice for a Healthy Balanced Lifestyle. What kind of classes do you provide?In our regular yoga classes, we provide 3 basic levels, Beginner, Intermediate and Advance. All levels consist of 7 lessons. Each lesson is 2 hrs, done once a week over a period of 7 weeks. It is a structured class and more like a course in Yoga. What will I learn from these classes?We start off the class with ample warm-ups to prepare your body to do the asanas. Besides asanas [yoga postures], you will also learn Deep Breathing, Deep Relaxation, Kaoshiiki [Ananda Marga Yoga Dance], Self Massage and simple Meditation techniques. Are there other types of classes?We have started our Meditation and Work-Out classes. In our Meditation Classes, we provide a 5-lesson course, teaching the basic techniques of meditation. Asanas will be incorporated to help prepare the body and mind for the meditation. Common obstacles faced are discussed and explained on how to overcome them. What are ‘Work-Out’ classes?These classes are not structured as compared to the regular classes. It mainly focuses on yoga asanas. It is suitable for those who wish to have a healthy weekly regime. There are different levels of Work-Out classes for different students. Each session is 1˝ hrs. How do I enroll?There are 2 options. You could either visit our centre personally or register, or you could download a Class Registration Form here, fill in all the details, attached your cheque and post it to us. Give us a call once you have done that, and download a document ‘Essential Info for new students’ here for more information. May I make a reservation?Yes you may but it does not entitle you to a confirm space until payment have been received. It is on a first-come-first-serve basis. When are the classes?Please check our Class Schedule at this site. Do you provide corporate classes?We do provide corporate classes for companies. It is a 10-session course. Please call us for more information. Are there yoga classes for Kids?The Kidz Yoga class is on every Saturday afternoon, from 2:30pm – 4:00pm. Fee is $170.00 for a series of 10 lessons. Basic yoga postures, expression through art, learning to focus, etc., are being taught in these lessons. The age group is between the age of 5 to the age of 12. What is AMYS membership?This is a yearly renewable membership with a one time admin charge of $10.00 and a yearly subscription of $25.00. The privileges are discount from Yoga Classes, products and very special rates for seminars, workshops or retreats, organized by us. What other services do you provide at the centre?We run a Homeopathy clinic as a service to the society. You may read more about it under ‘Health’ at this website.
